Shaan, The unbeatable Voice Of Indian Melody & A Gift To The Music World

Didn’t we all had a crush on the ever so charming Shaan? Even if its a no from your end then peeps, I bet you can’t ignore his songs. Today, we may have an unending chain of singers but the acoustics this pleasant voice has tendered us is one of a kind. Being the son of music composer Manas Mukherjee, Shaan has the zest of singing in his nerves since he was a kid. Starting his career from singing jingles in the advertisements to being the on-screen voice of actors like SRK, Amir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Ajay Devgan, Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, and so many more, Shaan is definitely one of the most cherished singers of all time.

Shaan – King of vocals and the charmer of 90s kid

Shantanu Mukherjee AKA Shaan has always been an allurer to the 90s kid. Not just with his exceptional voice but his congenial screen presentation as well. Shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa have been amiably hosted by him. He was one of the reasons for the viewers to watch the opera show, well, at least for me ;).

Shaan is a Bengali, hailing from the city of Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. Hence, the versatility in his language and vocal is nothing surprising. He has sung multiple songs in Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Urdu, Marathi, and Kannada.

“Woh pehli baar jab hum mile”, so 90s kid aren’t you longing with the fond memories of your school time? Yes, songs of Shaan are explicitly those melodious cassettes that are stored in the racks of every home. The purity and the virtue of Shaan’s gifted voice are second to none. Shaan has also stolen the hearts by bestowing his presence in the TV show Tarang and with his honeyed voice in the song “Tanha Dil, Tanha Safar“.

How Shaan’s songs are relatable for all of us?

The delightful songs of Shaan are not just relatable to the 90s kid but to all those categories of people who have a great taste in music. On that account, let’s jibe into some of his songs that are pure bliss.

Musu Musu Hasi (Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi)

Apart from the engrossing song “Woh pehli bar jab hum mile” the movie Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi also has a cute song which you must have listened to. Well, haven’t you sing this song to make your sad friend smile. I believe in the course of your school life, you would have definitely sung this song. Hence, this is a quick tonic to make your melancholic friend smile.

Koi kahe kehta rahe (Dil chahta hai)

Now, this song is the all-time party anthem for the partygoers. I remember dancing on this song in a locked room with my friend, keeping all our worries aside. So, the point of the connotation to this song in our reveller life is easy to relate. Also, when you are with your troop of a friend then “Koi kahe kehta rahe” party is unstoppable.

Hum jo chalne lage chalne lage hai ye raastein (Jab we met)

Jab we met was a massive hit and the jukebox of this movie was a chartbuster of the year. And one of the most soothing songs that provided a great sigh to our soul is “Hum jo chalne lage chalne lage hai ye raastein”. This is for sure in the playlists for the travelers during their journey. Hearkening this song while peeking into the window of our vehicle, this song is truly a euphoria.

Kuch to hua hai, kuch hogaya hai (Kal ho na ho)

When you are in love, this song is a paradise for you. The chocolaty expressions of Saif in this song aren’t only the result of the profound direction, choreography, or cinematography but the extraordinary charm of Shaan’s voice. You can’t stop yourself from humming this song to tease your friend when you find them gushing over their crush 😉

Dil ne tumko Chunn liya hai (Jhankar beats)

To all the fellas, deeply in love. This song is just and just for you. The cutest way to express your love to your partner. The romantic lyrics, the erotic composition, and the gracious Shaan’s voice are without a doubt, a piece of delightful music to listen to add on your playlist. Guess, I don’t need to suggest it. This song may have already adjusted its place in your archives.

Behti Hawa Sa tha wo (3 idiots)

In the voyage of happy-crazy friendship, this song is the most positive harbinger that is offered among friends. The meaningful words sugar-coated with the enduring voice of Shaan is a ray of sunshine after a heavy-stormy rainfall. The bond of friends couldn’t be sung better than this.

Jab se tere naina (Sawaariya)

Ranbir wasn’t the only inveigler in this song. The vocal behind Ranbir’s ecstatic expressions and dance moves also resulted as a winner. This song earned Shaan all the recognition and laudations. And again this is one of the most rhapsodic songs to sing for your loved ones. So guys, go and sing for your girl if you haven’t sung it to her yet.

Chand Sifarish (Fanaa)

Chand Sifarish” is the most favorable song to prove that Shaan’s voice is a lady’s charmer. Mingled with the voice of Kailash Kher, this song was played on the loop by the 90s kid. As a listener, you will certainly start whistling with the flow of this song. If you really love romantic songs then nothing is better than this. (Also, Shaan has won several awards for this song)

There are many more songs like “Woh ladki hain kahan”, “Ladki kyun na jane kyun”, “Dus Bahane”, “Main Aisa Kyon hu” and the list is monotonous. It was difficult for me to pick some tickled pink songs from Shaan’s discography.

Special mention:

Shaan just not ruled the heart of the Indian audience but he also collaborated with some international singers. He sang songs like one love (blue), and joint his hands with Michael Learns to Rock for his album “Tisnagi” and sang for the movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. He has also composed and inscribed 6 of the 9 songs of Michael Learns to Rock.

Shaan, just like his name is the pride of India, especially in the realm of Indian music.
