Rakshabandhan- Binding up the thread of love, care, and warmth

India is chock-full with diversion and culture; it has an abundance of ethnicity and tradition. All the 29 states of India have something very unique and colorful to accord when we look into its wisdom of belief. The competency of rituals and customs that our nation comprises is absolutely gripping. The most delightful fact about India is that the string of festivals starts from the Sikh festival Lohri. Here, festivals start in the month of January and end with Christmas in the month of December. Well, regardless of any religion and breed, India has so much of divergence that each festival is sanctified and lauded with fulsomeness of reverence and honor. As Rakshabandhan 2020 is almost here, let’s take a look at the festival and celebration this year.

Prominence of Rakshabandhan 

Rakshanbandhan, generally termed as Rakhi is a festival observed by Hindus. It is a ritual of tying sacred thread or talisman or bracelet made up of colorful thread and beautiful designs. Rakshabandhan is celebrated in the auspicious Hindu month and the last day of Savana. The tradition includes sisters applying tilak on the forehead of her brother, lighting a Diya, and giving it a show to the brother followed by this the prestigious rakhi is tied on the wrist of the brother and lastly offers sweets to the brother. In return to this, brother takes an oath to protect his sister throughout his life and also endow the sister with some gifts and surprises.

This splashy and rich festival is full of fun, tenderness, and joy. The entire day is beatified with vividness and gives us the privilege to devote this day to siblings. Coated with delicious foods, flavors, sweets, and much more offerings, this gala day is truly a much anticipated day of the year.

Celebration of Rakshanbandhan in the Corona Pandemic

We all are well-aware of the ongoing pandemic that has created hue and cry in the entire world. Originated from China, barbarous Corornavirus has put a halt in the living of people. It has not just distanced us from one another but it has also impacted on the earnings of the individuals. From educational institutes to corporate sectors everything is interrupted drastically. While we are praying for the coronavirus vaccine, we can’t thank enough to the frontline warriors. They are working day and night to defeat this awful disease called Covid-19.

Doctors, nurses, police officers, Army officers, and the BMC workers are putting their heart and soul just to save the life of common people. Thus, the impact of coronavirus has indeed ravaged our celebrations and festivals including the festival of Rakshabandhan as well. It has crashed so badly that, we are facing hurdles to send the thread of protection via courier or online services. 

As a remark of the scene, our Army officers are unable to go to their homes during Rakshabandhan. But, this year it has barricaded for the general citizens too. Some are citing their employment while some are serving as the frontline worriers. The massive chaos this sweeping virus has forged is certainly worst than ever. Nonetheless, let’s not squash our happiness due to this harsh disease. Appealing to the masses the team of Inugum requests everyone to seek compliance in every circumstance. Don’t be pessimistic if you are inefficient to send your bond of love in the form of Rakhi or gifts. Instead, be a little optimistic and jubilate this festival urging for a tranquil situation to the next year.
